F is for Faithful

I once heard a preacher preach a message (I know it is heresy as far as homiletics are concerned, but I enjoyed it anyway) using the word Father as an acrostic. He went through the word and pointed out a characteristic of God with each letter. For the letter F he used the word faithful.
I just want to praise the Lord this morning for His faithfulness. I change every day. Sometimes I'm up and sometimes I'm down. Sometimes I feel like I have the world by the tail and God is near and helping me. Other days I feel down and defeated and like God is a thousand miles away. To be honest, I don't always "feel" saved.
But even in those times, God is faithful. He changes not. He remains the same always. Like the sun He is there every morning to greet me. He loves me with the unchanging love of sovereign grace. He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me, and even when I can't feel Him, He is still there just as faithful as when I can and I bless His name for it!
And to think that I have been accepted in the beloved; in the One who never changes, who is always the beloved of God and who always does those things that please the Father. I cannot comprehend it but I am considered righteous in the sight of God. My prayer this morning is that I would act in practice as I am in my position. That I would live a consistent life, that I would be faithful in the eyes of the One who is so faithful to me. God is good!
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23
