I don't even know where it came from, but I'm glad we have it. While recently re re reorganizing the boys' bookshelf I came across an advent devotional for families called Christ in Christmas. The contributors include James Montgomery Boice, R.C. Sproul, James Dobson, and Charles Swindoll. There is an in depth commentary by each of the authors for each Sunday of the Advent season as well as one for Christmas Eve. The book also includes great hymns and carols, craft and illustration ideas, prayers, and Scripture readings for every day of the week. It even shows you how to make your own Advent wreath. This is what we are using as a guide for our family worship this Christmas season to lead us to the hope given in the Christ of Christmas and away from the empty promises of our consumer culture.
