A few years ago I picked up a book on sale containing a collection of Jonathan Edwards' sermons. There are probably a dozen or so of his sermons in the book, including some of my favorites. The way Edwards' mind worked and the way he thought about Scripture is amazing to me. My favorite Jonathan Edwards sermon is The Excellency of Christ where he puts forth the glory of Jesus Christ in what he calls "diverse excellencies". For instance, Edwards points out that Christ is both lion and lamb, God and man, servant and Lord.
