It has begun....

Today marks the official beginning of the 2008 College Football Season. Yeah, the pros are playing as well, but College Football is definitely where it's at! Here are a few reasons why the NCAA is better than the NFL:

  • The Stadium Names - NFL satdiums represent corporate America while we refer to college stadiums with names such as "The Big House" and "The Swamp."
  • Saturdays are better game days than Sundays.
  • The Mascots
  • The Bands - No "Rocky Top" or any fight songs in the pros.
  • The Players - I'm not aware of any contract hold outs in the NCAA.
  • The Energy and Excitement - Ya just have to be there to know.
  • ESPN College Gameday - Built by the Home Depot of course.
  • The National Rankings - better than divisional standings.
  • The Heisman Trophy
  • Every Game Matters - It appeared for a time last season that an NFL team with a losing record could make the playoffs. If a college team loses one game they may be out of the race for a title.
What do you think?

the games are better in college, however, when comes to seeing the best play you have to watch the pro players.

The speed of the game is quite different.

College games are much more personal. For instance, I don't care if we loose every game as long as the Gators beat the Bulldogs. Is there anything worse than a Bulldog? When I see Bulldog fans I ge that same feeling like when I'm watching the Democratic National Convention.

Did I mention I hate UGA?

In Favor of a Gator Nation,
