The Rebelution

Yesterday I featured the new book for teens Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations by Alex and Brett Harris. Today I want to feature what these guys are doing; they call it The Rebelution.

Being a youth pastor on his last breath (we only have three more weeks at Calvary Baptist) I have been thinking about the young people that I have spent the last three years with. I hope they get more than religion. My prayer for them is that they treasure Christ and His Gospel above goods, kindred, and life itself and that some of them will do radical things for the glory of God. That is why what Alex and Brett Harris are doing hits home with me. Parents, teachers, pastors, and peers alike do not expect much from our teenagers. Our expectations of them are low, and may they rebel against that low standard for Christ's glory.

At the website, therebelution.com, you will find a blog, a forum, information on the book and conference, and a helpful resource section.

Here is what C.J. Mahaney says about their blog:
"I am so glad Alex and Brett are using their blog to proclaim a biblical worldview for teenagers... The Rebelution is one of the few blogs I can encourage my young teenage son to visit."

Here is a description of the conference:
